  • Career & Internship Fair Recap

Dear G9-G12 Parents, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). We are deeply grateful for the support you have given to this year’s Career & Internship Fair. By God’s grace, the fair was a blessing to our community and an encouragement to our students to reflect thoughtfully on God’s calling for their lives, as well as on the college majors they may pursue in the near future. We sincerely hope that this internship program will continue to flourish at SPH-KV for many years to come. Yesterday, twenty-nine representatives from 11 companies/organizations came to SPH-KV to recruit summer student interns. From our school community, approximately 80 students and 35 parents participated in the event, making the fair both vibrant and well attended. The program began with a warm welcome and prayer led by Mr. Jason. Afterwards, Mr. Dale highlighted the significance of participating in summer internships, particularly as a pathway toward receiving the Medal of Distinction at graduation. Throughout the event, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air as parents and students moved attentively from one classroom to the next, eagerly absorbing the valuable information shared by our presenters. If your child is interested in applying for one of the 12 opportunities listed in the attached handbook: Please complete the attached internship application form and submit it to me in soft copy no later than April 3. I will then interview your child and forward selected names to the internship companies/ organizations. You may hear directly from the companies/organizations between April 25 and May 10 regarding an interview they want to conduct with your child. After spring break, I plan to conduct two workshops on resume writing and interview skills. Once again, thank you for your participation and for your support of the counseling ministry at SPH-KV. God bless you and your family! Dr. Abraham College & Career Counselor SPH-KV, Jakarta, Indonesia Abraham.chung@sph.ac.id

  • Career and Internship Fair 2026

Dear Grade 9-12 Students and Parents, We give thanks to God for granting SPH Kemang Village the privilege of offering structured summer internship opportunities for 2-3 weeks in the months of June and July of 2026, enabling our students to explore, apply, and refine their God-given talents in authentic professional settings. With the thoughtful collaboration of the PAG and our high school leadership, these programs have been designed and will be launched for the first time in SPH Kemang Village's history. We are deeply grateful to the company and organization owners, CEOs, and internship directors whose generosity and guidance have opened meaningful placements for our learners. In previous years, families often pursued internships independently; this initiative now consolidates those efforts into a coordinated pathway that is clearer, more equitable, and better supported. Importantly, the program also advances Mr. Dale’s vision for the Medals Distinction Program, in which internships serve as a significant formative component. We pray that this endeavor will honor God, cultivate wisdom and character, and bear lasting fruit in our community and beyond. May each student serve with humility, learn diligently, and return ready to bless others through faithful excellence. Please join us at our Career and Internship Fair 2026 Thursday, 12 March 2026, more details can be found on the poster below: Sincerely, Dr. Abraham Chung College & Career Counselor Abraham.chung@sph.ac.id

Reading Week is more than just costumes and activities — it is an opportunity to grow readers who think deeply, lead faithfully, and reflect Christ-like character in their daily lives. Let’s partner together to raise children who will truly roar like leaders . Dress Up Days Notes: 1. Define the term prop a. A prop is not a costume or anything one might wear b. It is something you can hold in your hand c. Examples: wand, shield, rose, scroll, mirror, apple, Bible, teacup, stethoscope 2. Define the term accessories a. Anything that can be work on the head or any part of the body but not a piece of clothing b. Students must be in uniform c. Examples: cape, crown, necklace, glasses, boots, surgical hat, tie 3. Define Leader Character Roar Like a Leader reflects confidence in doing what is right, while Characters Who Lead by Example reminds us that true leadership in stories is shown through actions, choices, and the way others are treated. 4. Examples of characters that literally roared: a. Lions b. Bear c. Dragons d. Book samples: i. Ravi's Roar by Tom Percival: In this picture book suitable for younger junior school children (Key Stage 1/2), the main human character, Ravi, lets out his inner "tiger" and is described as growling and roaring when he has a temper tantrum and doesn't get his way. He is a human boy who acts like a wild tiger when he is angry. ii. The Donut That Roared by Joan Brasher and Jackson Brasher: This book is aimed at helping children cope with the fear and noise of an MRI machine, which the main human character, a boy named Jackson, visualizes as an "obnoxious, noisy donut" that "roared". The roaring is an imaginative description of the machine's sound, conceptualized by the human character. iii. When the Mountains Roared by Jess Butterworth: This middle-grade novel, suitable for Years 4-6, features a human protagonist named Ruby who moves to the mountains of India. While the roaring in the title and description likely refers to the natural elements or perhaps leopards, the story centers entirely around human characters and their interactions, with "roared" used in an evocative sense within the title and descriptive language. iv. Sullivan, Who Is Always Too Loud by Micol Ostow: This picture book's title character is a human boy, Sullivan, who has a very loud voice and learns when it is appropriate to use it. While it doesn't explicitly use the word "roared" in the search snippets, the theme of a loud human character fits a similar query intent.

  • Disciplining the Next Generation: Parent Session Recap

Our recent Parent Session on Wednesday, 11 February 2025, “Entrusted to Us: Disciplining the Next Generation”  by Jacqui Harmeling was truly insightful. We explored practical ways to guide our children biblically, helping them grow into responsible and Godly leaders of the future. Parenting is a journey filled with both challenges and joys, a continuous walk with God as He leads us daily. Sessions like these remind us to remain grounded in His truth and principles, guiding our children along the right path with wisdom and love. We sincerely thank all parents who participated in this session. For those who were unable to attend, you can access the presentation materials  and audio recording below : At SPH Kemang Village, we believe that parenting is not a journey to be walked alone. As partners in education, we are here to support you every step of the way. Parent sessions like this are designed to equip and encourage you as you guide your children in God’s truth. • Exciting Campus Enhancements for 2026–2027

At SPH Kemang Village, excellence in education is a continuous journey. To serve our students well, we consistently reflect and enhance our spaces, programs, and practices. Every improvement is guided by our academic vision of rigor, relevance, relationship, and restoration, ensuring our campus remains a place where students flourish in True Knowledge, Faith in Christ, and Godly Character. With excitement, we share that several major facility enhancements have been approved for the 2026–2027 school year, all designed to support student-centered learning and growth. Upcoming Facilities Improvements Makerspace Expansion & New Robotics Lab (6th Floor) Our Makerspace will undergo a major upgrade and expansion, including the addition of a dedicated Robotics Lab in the current Senior School Library area. We believe STEM learning must be hands-on — where students design, build, test, and refine ideas while developing problem-solving skills, creativity, collaboration, and confidence. This enhanced space will support Senior School subjects such as Design Technology, Maths, and Science, while also enriching Junior School project-based learning. New Senior School Research & Discovery Lab (5th Floor) A new Senior School Research and Discovery Lab  will be built in a central and accessible location on the 5th floor. This space will become a vibrant hub for research, collaboration, and creative thinking. Students will learn to find, evaluate, and use information wisely — an essential skill in today’s information-rich world. The Research Lab will continue to provide access to selected print resources while expanding opportunities for digital research and innovation. Green Room Enhancements (8th Floor) Our drama program has been growing each year, and to support our students, we are enhancing the Green Room (backstage) . We know that every great performance on stage begins with careful preparation behind the scenes, and this upgrade will provide a more functional and supportive space for our student performers. Campus Restroom Enhancements In addition to these academic-focused developments, we will also enhance and upgrade campus restrooms across the school from the Ground Floor to the 8th Floor, ensuring they continue to meet our standards for safety, comfort, and student well-being. As shared in the email from Mr. Dale (Our Head of School) on Monday, 9 February , these enhancements are more than physical upgrades — they are opportunities for our students to flourish even more. Through these spaces, students become thoughtful problem-solvers, innovators, and creators who move from consuming knowledge to producing meaningful solutions. They will gain real-world skills, learn to collaborate, and develop agency, voice, and ownership over their learning. We are excited about these improvements and the ways they will help our students explore, create, and grow. Thank you for your continued support, and stay tuned for more updates as these spaces come to life for our community.
