- Celebrating Excellence Beyond the Classroom: Abraham Hutapea’s National Gokart Achievement (2nd & 3rd Place)
SPH Kemang Village is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Abraham Hutapea (Grade 8) , who recently represented both his school and team with excellence at the National Gokart Championship – EShark ROK Cup Indonesia 2026 Round 1 . The event took place on 24–25 January 2026 at the Gokart International Circuit in Sentul, West Java, and brought together young racers from across Indonesia. In this highly competitive national event, Abraham achieved 2nd Place in the Junior Non-Seeded category and 3rd Place in the Junior Newbie category . These results mark a meaningful milestone in his journey as a young athlete and demonstrate consistent growth in performance. Just one season prior, Abraham finished in 5th place , making this year’s podium finishes a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and commitment to improvement. Abraham has shown strong discipline and focus both on and off the track. His achievement reflects not only technical growth in racing, but also the development of character—resilience, patience, and a growth mindset—that aligns with the values we seek to nurture at SPH Kemang Village. As a school, we believe that true success comes from holistic education, where students are encouraged to develop their God-given talents beyond the classroom. We are thankful for the opportunity to witness Abraham’s journey and celebrate his progress. His accomplishment reflects the Eagle Spirit of SPH Kemang Village—soaring higher through hard work, integrity, and perseverance. We pray that Abraham will continue to grow in wisdom and character, continue to excel beyond the classroom, and remain grounded in humility. May he use every opportunity and achievement to bring glory to God in all that he does . We congratulate Abraham on this remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing how he continues to grow and thrive in the years ahead.

- Upcoming PSAT Preparation Classes 2026
Dear Grade 9 & 10 Parents, We are pleased to extend a special invitation for you to consider enrolling your child in our upcoming PSAT preparation classes . Beginning next year, many Top 50 universities worldwide are making the SAT a mandatory component of their admissions process. Strong performance on the SAT not only increases admission prospects but also lays a solid scholarly foundation for college success. According to the College Board, the PSAT and SAT share approximately a 90% concordance rate. The PSAT, however, is particularly advantageous for Grade 9 and 10 students, as it emphasizes core skills and familiarizes students with the test format early, allowing them to become truly test-ready. The course will be taught by Mr. Stephen, an American University graduate and a 15-year veteran SAT instructor who has successfully helped many international students in Jakarta improve their SAT scores by 150–200 points. He has thoughtfully designed this PSAT course specifically for SPH-KV students. With great enthusiasm, I highly recommend this program and encourage you to allow your child to participate. The class will run for four weeks beginning February 18, meeting three hours on Wednesdays and three hours on Saturdays. Detailed schedule, fees, and contact information can be found here below. Blessings in Christ, Dr. Abraham Chung College & Career Counselor abraham.chung@sph.ac.id
- Parents English Bible Study: "Now and Not Yet"
Now and Not Yet By Ruth Chou Simons https://watch.studygateway.com/now-and-not-yet-ruth-chou-simons Waiting on the Lord for direction, answers, or strength can be challenging. We can sometimes view waiting as wasted time. But God often uses waiting to make us more like Christ, and to teach us things about his character that we'll only learn while we wait. In this 6-video session series , Ruth Chou Simons explores six biblical narratives that put God's faithfulness to waiting people on display and helps us shift our gaze from the answers we're seeking to the God who meets us while we wait. Session 1: God Keeps His Promises (Feb 5) Session 2: God's Sovereignty Directs a Bigger Story (Feb 12) Session 3: God Provides in the Wilderness (Feb 19) Session 4: God Hears Your Cries (Feb 26) Session 5: God's Sufficiency Meets Your Weakness (Mar 5) Session 6: God's Sanctifying Work is Sure (Mar 12) Come and Join us for six Thursdays, Starting February 5, from 10:00 – 12:00 at VIP Room, G Floor.

- SPH KV University Fair 2026 Highlight
January 13 unfolded like a compass moment for the KV community, pointing students toward future paths while grounding them firmly in faith. The University Fair began in chapel, where two speakers shared personal faith journeys intertwined with their college experiences. Ms. Kathleen, a BIOLA graduate, reflected on how God faithfully led her from China to Biola and eventually to SPH KV. Ms. Myeisha followed, sharing her time as a praise night leader and how God continued to be real and present throughout her college life. Both speakers emphasized the importance of intentional prayer and staying in tune with God in order to remain faithful Christians during college years. After chapel, students moved to the gym, where 41 university representatives from the UK, Australia, Singapore, China, Canada, and Hong Kong were waiting. Alongside their parents, students confidently navigated the fair using 13 prescriptive questions to gather information for college and career decisions. Administrators and teachers were present, offering guidance and encouragement throughout the process. A unique highlight was the inclusion of Grade 8 students. Many of them approached the fair with confidence, visiting more than seven booths and asking thoughtful, intelligent questions. Overall, the day strengthened our community, impressed visiting universities, and reminded us to praise and thank God for such a day together.

- Welcoming our new Grade 5 teacher, Mr. Avi! 🍎✨
We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Avinash (Avi) Poudel to our SPH Kemang Village family as our 5th Grade teacher! Mr. Avi is a graduate of the International Teachers College at UPH, in association with Corban University, specializing in Elementary Education. Mr. Avi feels a strong calling to serve at SPH, shaped by his previous year of teaching at SPH Lippo Village. During that time, he experienced a community that worked closely together while nurturing growth not only in skill, but in character and faith. Living and working in Indonesia allowed him to form a meaningful connection with SPH, and he is grateful for the opportunity to return and continue his journey within a loving Christian community. In his teaching, Mr. Avi believes that there is always room for improvement—every day, a little better. This mindset reflects his commitment to continuous growth, both for his students and for himself as an educator. He desires to walk alongside his students as they learn, grow, and discover the gifts God has placed within them. Beyond teaching, Mr. Avi enjoys staying active through working out and playing football. He also loves playing board games and serving on the worship team through singing. These moments bring him joy, refresh his spirit, and keep him connected to God and community. Mr. Avi is especially excited to be part of SPH Kemang Village because he looks forward to sharing his culture and his testimony with students, families, and colleagues. As he begins this new chapter, he would like to share a message with parents and students: "This year will be a blessing, but it will take patience to see it fully unfold. Let us be patient together and trust God to do His part."

- SPH Kemang Village Grade 12 Student Edmund, Founder of Light Ministry Orchestra, Featured in National Concert
Photo: Bisnis.com We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement Edmund, one of our students who is also founder of the Light Ministry Orchestra (LMO), a youth music community recently featured in a special concert at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbud). The concert, led by renowned musician Addie M.S., was held in commemoration of World Children’s Day. LMO, which Edmund founded over three years ago with two friends, was highlighted for its mission. As shared by the founders, LMO is more than just a place for young people to play music; it serves as a space for character building, youth empowerment, and a platform to contribute to Indonesian culture. The founders of Light Ministry Orchestra Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, and Addie M.S. both praised the orchestra for its inclusive mission. The performance featured 71 musicians, including 16 children with special needs , successfully uniting children from diverse backgrounds to learn discipline, responsibility, empathy, and respect through music and collaboration. At SPH Kemang Village, we are delighted to see our students flourish beyond the classroom and use their gifts to be a blessing to the wider community. Edmund's initiative in founding the LMO is a powerful example of using God-given talents to positively impact culture and bring people from different backgrounds together through the universal language of music. Well done, Edmund! We celebrate this incredible milestone and pray that LMO continues to inspire and bless many through its work.
