Dear Parents, Warm greetings from me and our leadership team at SPH KV. As we conclude the first day of remote learning, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your continued support, partnership, and flexibility during this time. We also want to provide you with an update regarding the rest of the week.

We deeply appreciate your help in ensuring a smooth start to online learning today. Our teachers have approached this transition with dedication and courage- demonstrating the IB learner profile traits of open-mindedness and risk-taking as they care for and guide your children in this new format.

As we reminded our faculty during our morning devotion and prayer, Paul exhorted the church in Corinth:

“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

This encouragement continues to guide us. We believe that shepherding your children—whether in person or online—is sacred work, and we remain committed to doing it with excellence, steadfastness, and care.

Remote Learning Continues Tomorrow

Classes will continue online tomorrow (Tuesday), and you will find the relevant schedule for your child attached. Please note that schedules differ by grade level. Across all divisions, we are intentionally including time in the day for students to step away from their screens to support their social and emotional well-being.

Planning for the Rest of the Week

We are closely monitoring the current situation and will make a decision regarding Wednesday and Thursday based on the latest information. To avoid making a rushed decision, we will communicate our plan for the remainder of the week by Tuesday at 12:00 noon.

While our desire is to return to in-person learning, recognizing it as the ideal environment for student growth, we will only do so if we are confident that it is safe for all members of our school community. Please be aware that our plans may need to shift if conditions worsen or if government directives require further action.

Important Reminders

  • Campus Access: While remote learning is in effect, students are not permitted on campus.

  • Learning Materials: All learning will be conducted using digital resources. If your child does not have access to a textbook, alternative materials will be posted online to ensure continuity of learning.

  • Parent Meetings: Any parent meetings that were previously scheduled to take place on campus will be rescheduled. We will provide new dates and times as soon as possible.

  • After-School Activities: All after-school activities are temporarily suspended and will be rescheduled at a later time. We will inform you of any new schedules once the situation allows.

  • Student Engagement: We ask for your continued support in helping your children remain fully engaged during online classes. We expect students to have their cameras on during instruction and to remain attentive so they can benefit fully from these learning experiences.

A Call to Prayer and Partnership

We invite you to join us in praying for our school, the city of Jakarta, and our nation. May we continue to place our trust in the Lord, our refuge, and allow Him to calm our fears and strengthen our hearts.

We remain grateful for your partnership and support. May God bless and protect your families. We look forward to walking through the days ahead together—by His grace and in His strength.

With peace and hope,

Dale Wood
